Budo: The art of killing - 11/23/06 03:31 PM

Recently I saw this movie.

It is more a documentary on some martial arts.
Made in 1979 I believe.

It has some nice info on karate-do, judo, aikido, sumo-do, kendo and naginata-do.

Anyone seen this film? What are your thoughts on it?

I haven't seen it in years (maybe over a decade). I really enjoyed it. I loved the nukite through the apple leaving the finger outline and I thought it was funny that the guys using the train as a makiwara did not spend too much time on the shin kicks.

All in all, I thought it was a great overview of the different martial arts. I would recommend it to anyone who likes the history aspect of martial arts.

I also would recommend a show I saw on the History Channel today. It was simply called "The Samurai" and was a detailed history of their existence.
