Kempa 2000 The Path to Excellence - 08/09/05 01:58 AM

I was given a copy of Skip Hancock's The Path To Excellence by a friend this week.

My friend is a very generous Kenpo guy who has been invaluable to me in my MA studies.

My instructors are Blood and Guts Texas TKD guys known for there fighting; not their use of language.

Of course there is the Parker hero worship and the book itself is only a self published booklet.

What struck me about the book was Skip‘s use of language to precisely describe the philosophy of this unique American Martial Art.
Admitedly some of the language or phrases bordered on jargon that is lost on me, but the effort was interesting.

I have noticed others using some of the phrases like “Point of origin” or “Vocabulary of motion” but I couldn’t say if they are independently created.

Thanks to Skip for bringing along extra copies of the book to Montana.
