i have a question? - 07/17/05 01:21 PM

Not sure if this is the right place for this but I was wondering if i bought many teaching books/films on WingChun or any other kung fu i find interesting, i know for sure it wont be as good as having an instructor to help you, tell u whats wrong etc, but would books and films be ok to learn the style and mayb even master it? thanx, sorry if it wrong place.

To master it? No. To learn the basics and gain good background knowledge? Yes. To become a master in any art requires proper instruction from a proper teacher.

Books and videos make good supplimentary material. You cannot learn MA from them alone but they can help you improve if you are already studying MA under a qualified instructor.

Do you think you could learn an instrument from a book?
Learn how to drive from a book?
Learn maths from a book?

Am I wasting my time and money going to a dojo?

Think about it.
