a few questions...

What makes it different than Judo? How should one act in an Aikido dojo? Is it effective? I'm thinking about taking this art, but don't know much about it except that it is supposed to be very harmonius and deals with throws. I'm new to this, but not MA.

Since you're not new to MA, you would know that it's not the art that effective.

I checked out 2 boks on the subject yesterday. From what I've seen, Aikido looks like its based around counter attacks. I also read that its very spiritual.

Thanks for those links. I found two dojos in my area. I'm gonna check them out this weekend.
