K
Daito ryu is a style of jujutsu, or aiki-jujutsu if you perfer.
One of the pre-cursor styles of Aikido.
In this case, "daito" does not refer to a sword--one of those Japanese words that has more than one meaning/useage.
(and BTW a number of weapons/swords were used from horseback--a daito--could just as easily be a sword used on the ground)
The guy that "founded" Daito Ryu was a highly skilled and accomplished fighter--with and without weapons, so some of the Daito schools have retained the weapons training.
If you have sword questions, I would suggest the sword forum.

"Daito"-ryu in this case means "Great Eastern". I believe Ona-ha itto-ryu kenjutsu is a complementary kobujitsu of various styles of aiki-jitsu, most notably hakko-ryu.
