TKD clip - 07/02/05 10:53 PM

decent clip, I didnt like the breaking and some of the knife tactics, but i enjoyed the joint manipulations and throwing/takedown techniques.

This thing takes forever to download. Oh well. It was worth the wait.

They should have had someone break a ton of bricks with a step sidekick. You should see the look on people's faces when a step sidekick is used to knock a bag waaayy back lol.

Now I appreciate my 1meg connection FormerRedBelt

The video was quite nice as a demonstrationof some throws and locks etc. Some of the breaking was pretty impressive stuff. I feel sorry for the guy that tried that karate chop through concrete - OUCH!

Thanks for the vid man!

Re: TKD clip - 07/03/05 03:38 PM

That is a good video. I have that, along with a couple that have already been shown downloaded. I got another WTF one, and an ITF one that have not been posted yet. Could someone who is smarter than me with computers tell me how to post them.

I figured it out
Here they are
The first is ITF, second is WTF, the last one Says Karate(This guy has some skills)

Re: TKD clip - 07/04/05 12:06 AM

you are dead on with saying that the 1st is ITF and the 2nd is WTF, i take WTF and i recognised them doing forms like kumgung

Re: TKD clip - 07/04/05 09:53 AM

They are some really good clips DizzyDogg!

I especially enjoyed the WTF ones - I train ITF and when I see the WTF schools in my area, it's easy to think of WTF as an inferior MA, but seeing those clips shows me that WTF can be just as good as ITF

yes i consider this to be true martial arts. Not flashy, but very efective.

Here is a website that I get most of my videos from. Some of the links are dead, but it still has a good amount of videos in it.

This also has a very good amount of videos on it. Just click on video footage on the left.

Re: TKD clip - 07/07/05 05:47 PM

you know...I really don't want to downgrade what these guys do because I really admire the atheleticism involved and the hard training that it takes to be able to do the various flips etc., but putting a spin kick through a pine board at head height just doesn't do it for me. An 8 year old can break a pine board without too much trouble.

Also, there were at least two parts in that video where a black belt failed to do a relatively simple break. I'm only a yellow belt and if I didn't go through 3 slabs pegged I'd be kind of embarrassed to be honest. Especially when you're using hammerblow. The other break I can see maybe because it looked like about 6 or 7...which really isn't a small feat. Still, if you're going to claim to be a blackbelt, your focus and power should be more or less 100% things...not 50/50 depending on how you feel that day.

I will give one thing to them though...the joint manipulations and knife takeaways were very impressive. Kudos to whoever that guy was.
