Front Kick Progression

Front Kick Progression - 10/13/04 04:56 PM

What order is the fron-kick kicking progression in? (It's like a kicking form, if you use different terms)

I thought it was front leg, back leg, jumping front leg, jumping back leg, step, jump back leg, run, jump, kick with both legs together, step, jump, kick with both in splits.

Anybody know what it is or if I'm right? Anybody know what I'm talking about at all?

Huh..there are four basic kicks, front, side, round and back kick. You can modify them all kind of ways but what the hell are you talking about anyway?

A kick progression is like a kata or form, but it only consists of a single type of kick, done is several different ways (front leg, back leg, jumping, flying, skipping, etc.)
For example, the front kick progression is:
front kick with your front leg (in a fighting stance)
Front kick with your back leg
Skipping front kick with your front leg
Jump front kick with your front leg
Jump front kick with your back leg
Flying double front kick
Flying splits kick

If you don't get it, just try it out and you'll see.

I re-learned it Thursday night, about a day and a half after I asked about it.
