Disturbing insight... - 05/08/04 05:49 PM

While reading some posts here there were some by people that for a source of factual (one post was on the law) information they quoted their martial arts instructor.

Is this a new trend or was MA always like this? Not questioning your instructor means everything he or she says automatically is correct to you.

Sky is brown, sun is blue, clouds are white. Stuff like that if you don't question will mess you up.

So when, even with kata and technique, do we as martial artists stop being robots and actually stop to go "hey...this doesn't make sense" or "are you sure there isn't a differen way" or "is it really like this or that?"

Yes.
My instructor knows all, sees all. We all follow his orders unquestioningly. Every utterance of his is law.

I joined the cult,uhhm...errr... I mean class, just so I wouldn't have to think for myself.

Thinking hard-not thinking easy.
Thinking baaadddd!!!!
