You can see that it contains both principles and movements found in Judo and Aikido.

I wouldn't want to talk about the effectiveness of the kata, but I thought it was interesting to see the mechanics and strategy behind it.

the theory's might be sound, as well as the techniques. but personally i think the only way to get alot of that stuff to work is to strike your way in, to setup the locks. you gotta have a distraction.

Out of interest, how much Tomiki Aikido do you see in here?

A decent amount of Tomiki influence there I think. For example, the Kodokan Goshin Jutsu clip (Part 1) contains a kata part called Hidari Eri Dori (occurs at 00:53 of said clip).

Atemi aside, it is v similar to Tomiki Aikido Kata Hiki Taoshi in Tori's body position and movement.
