Judo or Aiki Jutsu.

Hello. I'm practising Shaolin and would like to take another style at the same time, something with more joint locks, throws and attacks, defence against knife attacks, etc.. I was wondering what exactly is the difference between aikido, aikijutsu and judo?..and which one would you recommend considering I'm not that tall and quite slim. Cheers.

Depends on the teacher rather than the art. See what is around you and try and go to a class. Most Judo in the UK and Ireland is somewhat sport orientated, so it has limited use for knife attacks. Though there are Judo groups who do practice Judo regarding SD (e.g. Kyushindo Judo group.).

Aikido contains joint locks throws, defences against knife attacks (though some are not that realistic, but it does teach excellent evasive movements to get you out of the knifes way.)

Aikijujutsu is a VERY hard art to find a master in. There are only two teachers in the whole of the UK, and one of them doesn't even teach anymore. So be careful of any suppose teachers offering to teach you Aikijujutsu. Chances are they won't be the real deal.

However, Ju Jutsu would suit most of the things you are after IMO. So see if you can find a JJ school close to you.

Pretty sure Aikijujutsu does, certain that Aikido does.

There is actually very good Aikijutsu classes in Suffolk and Essex, such as Brightlingsea, Colchester, Felixstowe, Ipswich, Oxford and Wakefield.
