Judo at Home - 02/18/06 10:09 AM

Hey all. Does anyone know any good training a lone individual could do at home for Judo?

I learnt my first part of kata and have been practicing that at home. Was just wondering is there anything else any judoka do outside the dojo to practice?

Thanks.

How about stretching and breakfalling.

I just entered a course of jiu-jitsu, so I may not be right on the spot for judo. But that's what I do every now and then. Also for karate strechting every now and then in my own time works good. And kata practice is always good to do.

There are a number of BJJ books that have solo drills in them. You could also find similar drills in wrestling books. Shrimping is always good. The drills build stamina and flexibility. One recent book that has a few is " The Essential Guard". You can use a bike innertube tied to a pole or column to practice "Fitting in".
