Which Judo organization is tied to the olympics? - 02/12/06 11:34 PM

^That question just came up into my head since I was watching the winter games. Are they all tied, or is it like in TKD's case where WTF is the style in the olympics? What are the differences/politics behind the organizations?

Kodokan is the Olympic Judo style. I know of only one other style, Kosen Judo, which presumably is not allowed in the Olympics. Could someone confirm this please.

I believe Kosen may not enter the olympic unless they do the Kodokan style. If they go ground grappling and all, dq.

But I presume, if you do Judo and do it the right way as taught by the kodokan even though you are not affiliated, you have the right to join the Olympics if you can qualify.
