When applying Jujigatame

One of the easiest things you can do to make it more effective is to make sure that your hips are as close to your opponents body as possible.

If your back is arched all the way and his arm is in the correct position, but still no tap out - then it is probably because your hips are too far away. Slide 'em closer.

How about some more quick tips anyone?

Hadaka Jime (a rear choke)

In the above picture the young man is using his right arm to apply the choke. One way to relieve some of the pressure is to grab his right arm with your left hand and pull down while simultaneously turning your head into his ribs.

This may give you a few seconds to attempt an escape.

That pic above, I'd just choke harder. Just kidding. If I was getting choked, I'd reach around to the hand on the back of my head pulling the hand back there over to the front and hold it with both arms. That relievs alot of pressure and it is really hard to choke someone with one arm. Plus it opens for escape.

You're right, Roxer. That's about the weakest looking choke I've seen. You are dead on about getting that other arm to the front - the best way to not get choked is to not let 'em apply the choke in the first place.

Kuzushi (unbalancing:

Don't ever allow your opponent to regain his balance once you start a throw. Maintain your kuzushi as you enter, and all throughout the throw. Drive, drive, drive until he is on his back.
