I used to do some Judo. Is that osotogari still a big move? Seemed pretty good but my BJJ friend doesn't know about it.

O soto gari is my fav move player....

Not very popular in mma events or judo shais,sigh.....

Well it is not very popular anymore btw from my view.After the great o soto gari exponents left such as yamashita,geesink,seisenbacher,sergei novikov,o soto gari is becoming quite lesseer but still at the top.

Move along kodokan here comes the pickups...

It is certainly not as popular as it once was, but you do still see it from time to time at all of the levels.

The reason that is appears to have disappeared is that now it is done so deeply that people mistake it for Harai goshi.

There is also a "far side" version that shows up quite a bit.
