Hi Jenny, welcome to the forums.

I am a 40 year old female, 5ft 7 and my weigh around 135 pounds at the moment (worked hard to get it up from 120 pounds)

I eat four meals a day and I do some sort of training on most days.

I would like to put another 7 pounds on without cutting down on physical excercise, but am finding it impossible.

what would you suggest?

Lol a Sharon wishing to get chunky

Seriosly 3 grams protein per kilo of body weight. Lots of complex carbs.

I think the calorie requirement works out to 15 cals per pound of body weight. So you want 2025 per day as a minimum to maintain body weight or thereabouts. To gain weight you need more than this so set 2500 (maybe higher as you said you have a fast metabolism as I recall).

Just be careful. When you hit the target weight watch the calorie balance or you may find you put on more weight than you want!

There's a thread somewhere on here with some great milkshake drinks you can whip up at brekkie time to kick off the day with plenty of good stuff. Here's my old weight gain one for the record

1 pint full fat milk (use skimmed/ semi if you like....I only drink the real thing)
Two raw egs
One Bannana
Scoop of vanilla icecream.
Honey (large scientific "dollop")

It is sweet, non PC and luvverly. Of course there's the salmonella eggy issue but I never worried and am still here lol.

Other than that....eat 1 kilo of chocolate eat day.

Jenny,

Just curious, what are your qualifications? Do you have training in nutrition or medicine?
