old judo injury - 04/22/04 10:50 AM

hi, this is my first time posting here, but this looks like a pretty good place .

anyway, about 2 and a half years ago I hurt my lower back in judo from too much lifting, straining and getting slammed on the floor. later, from an unrelated incident I also hurt my neck, which I think is just soft tissue damage because X-rays show nothing wrong.

so I've been wondering, does anybody have any suggestions for a way I can heal quicker and repair that tissue? workout techniques, alternative treatments, nutrients etc. I'd love to one day get back to Judo, and I'm alot better than I was 2 years ago, but there's still a lot of healing ahead before I can go back into it. but I really want to heal as fast as possible, it's just killing me that I can't go back into doing it.

If it's still bothering you, see a doctor, get a MRI for the soft tissue.

Good luck.

ah I've lost all faith in doctors...

"here, take this painkiller, it'll be better in a week"

"but I've had it for two years"

"oh, then take a pain killer and some heat on it, it'll be fine"

bloody useless.

Wrong doctor?

Don't see a GP for an injury like that. Go see an Ortho guy. You need an MRI or CT or ultrasound to assess soft tissue damage.
