During attentive meditation, you would feel the path of your thoughts and emotions. You gain a power in controlling your anger and a better internal balance within the mind.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but kata means form. Your inner power is for you, alone.

Kata done slowly and with one's eyes closed with breathing controlled and movements controlled is akin to QiGong and who's to say that meditation is to be done perfectly still.

One can "time out" any time during the day or night.

For me Kata is a relaxed state where one's mind is at one with one's body and the movements flow without thought or feeling just as natural as breathing

Well, one has his way, and if it helps, and is good, it's his way and is fit to do what he pleases. It all goes back to peace.
