Healthy snacks between training sessions - 07/26/06 01:11 PM
I'm getting tired of granola bars and kashi bars, does anyone know of any good snacks for between meals and training sessions to keep my energy up?

Make a shake or something. Take 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of orange juice, 1/4 cup of yogurt, 1 banana, 1/2 cup of strawberries, 1 cup of ice and blend away. Heck you don't even have to get this fancy. Blend milk, banana and something to add some more flavor. The banana when blended up actually will fill you up more as it expands plus it is good for you. Even yogurt by itself isn't too bad ... or cottage cheese. And I agree, fresh fruits are good and I eat an apple and orange every day in the afternoon at 2:30 for a part of my afternoon meal.

Red skin peanuts. Not roasted, or deep fat fried, or with sugar or salt or honey glazed or any of that, just natural red skin peanuts. Shelled or unshelled.

Fresh fruit, trail mix, dried fruit, jerky, smoothies, shakes, bowl of cereal.
Thats the stuff I tend to go for if i have a snack attack

Yeah trail mix is great for that... and if its not, then I don't care.
