Fluid under the knees? - 09/12/05 11:50 AM
Yes, I know, "go to the doctor." But in the mean time I'm asking anyone with medical experience or similar problems.
It's happened a few times in the past 2 years, and has become somewhat frequent with me lately(every 1 or 2 months), and usually after a workout. Sometimes just after and sometimes hours later or the next day.
It feels like there is a fluid buildup under my kneecap. If I squat down it places a great deal of pressure on the kneecap.
Happens most often in my right(dominant) knee. Usually only a couple of hours, but sometimes a day or two. The first time it happened it lasted about a week and I couldn't walk correctly for most of that time because of the buildup.
For at least the past 10 years I have been able to pop both of my knees just by doing a very low squat. Not continuously, but a couple of times a day if I try it. But doing it(trying to pop/popping my knees) for quite a bit one day resulted in the first episode of this.
Any help? (besides "go to the doctor")
