Real or fake katana ?

I bought a katana for practice for about 250$ canadian. At genesport. But I can't know if its hard enough to be used has a weapon. I select a non-sharp blade cause of my unexperience in the art of Iaido. But still, could you guys teach how to know if it is a real of fake one? It has been maded in japan thought...

Well if you're training in Iai, the most sure way is to show it to your instructor. If you paid $250 for it and it's not an iaito, it's most likely not suited for the rigors of regular iai practice.

I don't have a school. I bought a book after ive bought the sword. I think it's for iaido but I can't really say what kind of katana it is. Anyway to know it ?

Ask the folks you bought it from. If they can't tell you it's an iaito then in all liklihood it's a stainless steel wallhanger meant for display purposes.
