Wow! That is a truly annoying way to type. Ugh. It's painful to the eyes.

Your right this is a martial arts forum.

Can't speak for anyone else, but I have no time to waste on bored folks just jacking around.

So I just won't take the time to read thu dreck. Much less answer.

I may take the time to mock you.

But if you have real questions I would recommend that you take the time to at least try and make your questions readable.

Most folks here do their best to read and answer folks questions.

Being a delibrate horses-arse is both insulting and waste of time.

My best advice, if your serious about getting answers to your questions, is type in a readable format.

the closest thing to an axe art would be to learn naginatajutsu, but if you are thinking of great big battle axes or some sort of tomahawk type thing, then there is no such art; the Japanese simply didn't use those types of weapons in combat.

Ok

You got rid of the weird fonts, so I'll answer you.

In point of fact, what we would consider a "battle axe" was used in Japan.

Very, very, very, rare.

As javeman has pointed out above a naginata seemed to be a more popular choice for the samurai.

Possibly due to a nagainata being a better all around weapon for the method of war in Japan. Greater reach and ability to thrust etc.

Don't really know why but the battle axe never really seems to have caught on.

The book "Secrets of the Samurai" (Ratti and Westbrook) has a line drawing based upon a photo of one.

As well as some info about it.

It was called an "ono" or "ona" or something like that.

Best I can do off the top of my head.
