Notify Moderator - 06/12/08 02:05 PM

Hello everyone.

Recently, I have received complaints from certain members saying that the moderators and I have not responded quickly enough when other members are abusive, trollish, or otherwise breaking site rules.

One of you has even intimated that we don't care. Well, you're wrong there. We're doing what we can to keep the site in order, but please remember that the Mods and I have jobs, family lives, and other interests (*coughGTA4cough*) outside of FA.com, and are not always able to scour through every thread looking for offenders.

That's why we have a "Notify Moderator" button. When I receive a complaint in my email/PM, I do my best to respond appropriately as soon as possible.

Also, having a disagreement or argument with another member is not enough call to have them banned. Please remember to keep one-on-one tiffs to PM. If you find yourself unable to resolve the conflict peaceably, consider using the "Ignore This User" feature.

If that is still an unsatisfactory solution, and that person is causing trouble, let me know, and I'll happily escort them out.

Thank you all for your attention in this matter, and have a great day!

The notify moderator button was used several times by me in the karate forum. Three members repeatedly asked for the thread to be locked and I sent a pm to one moderator with no response in several days.

Yes, we all have jobs and lives, but if we are going to take on the responsibility of admin or mod we cannot ignore the site or certain forums for days at a time.

We used to have two admins and many more mods after MR.V ignored the site for weeks at a time while trolls ran rampant posting porn and everything else you can imagine.

Maybe we need more staff or more attention from "those in charge".

How do you like GTA4?
