MA training and Stress Management

MA training and Stress Management - 08/26/04 12:16 PM

This is sort of the other side of Doughnut's thread about anger on the job. Do you use MA training as a form of stress management? Does the training (long term) help day-to-day in dealing with the "non-violent" but highly stressful situations? Are meditation and breathing technqiues part of your MA practice?

PS: I am an LEO and a MA practioner. IMHO, I have found that MA training has helped me immeasuarably over the years in more ways than I would try to talk about here.

I do use MA for stress management, along with a variety of other techniques. Any form of exercise is great for stress reduction. I think one of the other benefits is many MA teach meditation as well, which is another great stress fighter, so it becomes a two-for-one deal.
