Sensei Allen Wheeler has passed - 02/16/05 08:19 AM
While probably not the best location for this topic....
I wanted to let everyone know the Sensei Allen Wheeler, one of the American pioneers of Isshinryu, passed away in his sleep on 02/14 at his home outside of Knoxville, TN. As one who had been welcomed into his dojo on many occasions, he will be missed greatly.

Michael,
I have seen notice of Mr. Wheeler's death on the various Isshinryu lists.
Never having met him myself, I know he had a solid reputation as an instructor and a person.
To those who were his friends, students and family I extend my condolences at your loss.

As a follower of Isshinryu for 18 years, I offer up my condolences as well.
He's with the TRUE founder now..

Kevin:
I wonder if you are the Kevin that I know...if you can recite AS/400 manuals from memory, drop me a private line.

Unfortunately, the first wave of American Isshinryu senseis has reached the age where men like Master Wheeler are passing on. We will sorely miss them. Thanks for the update, meijin.
