Weopans Kata - 04/30/02 08:24 AM

Something new for you all. As there have been far too many heavy issues going on on this site.

Does anyone practice the Sai? I am working towards doing the sai with the Shotokan kata Jitte. Does anyone have any advice for me???

Yep. The original versions of Jitte and Jiin were Sai kata. If you didn't know that already.

Joesixpack: Yes please pass on this information as it would be of interest to us all.

Not a book but a website. The owner/author seems reputable. But what are his sources? My communications with him remain unanswered.

Joesixpack: He is an obvious Gojuryu stylist and is well researched. However, I have seen him on video performing his kata and it does not reflect any true level of understandin especially in the area of his "Hakusturu-Kenpo" as mentioned on his site.

Truth is he approached me to be a member of my association so he could access footage of our Hakutsuru ... he was not successful in obtaining any footage as the art is not for sale outside of the art and certainly not for learning off a tape.
