there is a silat school close to where I live do you guys think is a good idea to join it? I already went and got a trail lesson but I'm still not sure.

If you are looking for a good MA instructor give him the ego test. If he's really good he will be respectful of others, humble and confident but if he is not he will reveal his insecurity (a sign of someone not truly there yet as a MA teacher) by openly putting down his competitors or demeaning others in order to appear better in your eyes. If he does that run dont walk away from him. He maybe a good technician but after that what does he have to teach you that you can take with you into your life by which to strengthen your spirit so you wont hesitate and freeze up if you are challenged for real?
